In exciting news for the U.S. steel industry, construction is underway for the first of【2】state-of-the-art hot-dip galvanizing plants, both set to have the largest kettle by volume and the second largest among all members of the American Galvanizers Association.
Located in Decatur, Alabama, this cutting-edge facility is being engineered and commissioned by GIMECO IMPIANTI for the renowned American company Nucor Towers & Structures.
The plant will feature an impressive zinc kettle measuring meters 18,90 by 3,05 by H3,65 (or 62′ by 10′ by H12′) and a automated lifting system of 15+15 metric tons capacity: this massive operation will allow for large-scale galvanizing projects, crucial for the expanding infrastructure sector.
This Alabama plant is the first of two twin facilities, with the second to follow in Indiana, both designed to meet the growing demand for corrosion-resistant steel products.
